Dear Generous Friend/Family,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am planning on running in the City of Oaks Marathon/Half Marathon (Raleigh, NC) this November 7th. I am running for at least two reasons. First, it will be a challenge to try to complete 13 (or 26) miles, and second, I’m doing it to raise money to support research into new and better treatments for melanoma. My friend Ted Murphy has Stage IV melanoma (meaning it has spread around his body), and his family has started an effort to raise money to support research. You can see their website, and read their story at www.GoToHellMel.org. Ted and his wife Stacy will be running the half-marathon with me, and I am wondering if you would like to donate money that would 100% go to an nonprofit (i.e., 501 c3 and tax deductible)organization called the Melanoma Research Foundation (www.mrf.org)?
If so, please do the following:
1. Go to www.GoToHellMel.org
There is also a post-race fundraiser that is taking place on November 7th. You can get information on this event at the GoToHellMel .org website by clicking on the “Post-Event Party” tab.
Thank you for any support you can give!
